Ms. Stein began her college career at Bethany College in Bethany West Virginia where she earned a B.S. degree with a major in education. She was awarded a fellowship to the University of Pittsburgh where she taught at the "University School" and received her Masters in Education with a reading and math major.  She earned a M.Ed.

In 1988, Fulton County began hiring what were then called "Instructional Resource Teachers" (IRT). This was a position that was developed for every elementary school. The purpose of the IRT was to help teachers deliver curriculum, work with the county in writing curriculum and do all the ordering of materials, testing new students, mentoring new teachers, meeting with parents and any other duties deemed necessary by the principal.

The position has now been renamed Curriculum Support Teacher (CST) and her duties are determined by the needs of the school, the students and the parents.

Ms. Stein has been at Lake Windward for the past 11 years. During her 26 years in Fulton County, she has written curriculum, taught staff development courses, served on the Language Arts and Social Studies textbook adoption committee, been a mentor to new teachers, been trained in TESA (Teacher Expectation Student Achievement), received her TSS (Teacher Support Specialist) certification and has provided workshops for teachers and parents throughout Fulton County.
